For years, the Lindlar-based company ONI-Wärmetrafo has been collecting prizes and awards presented in national and international competitions. The respective juries have consistently highlighted the company’s innovative strength, business success, forward-looking approach, customer satisfaction, training of young people, and its diverse and strong social commitment.

Now, however, this medium-sized, craft-oriented trendsetter in energy optimization has received a very special honor. Professor Dr. Bernd Venohr, alongside Dr. Florian Langenscheid—one of the two editors of the “Lexicon of German World Market Leaders”—and a high-caliber jury assessed ONI’s performance profile as so outstanding on a global scale that inclusion in the newly published lexicon was proposed, which naturally delighted ONI CEO Wolfgang Oehm.

“Such recognition is like a knighthood for us and another major milestone in our company’s history. The entry in the encyclopedia is not the result of a short-term assessment, but rather of the corporate performance delivered by all employees over many years, of which we are all very proud,” said Wolfgang Oehm, who founded the company more than 30 years ago.

At the book launch in Schwäbisch Hall, Oehm received the World Market Leader medal from the two editors. On this occasion, Dr. Langenscheid once again emphasized that while the term “world market leader” may spontaneously bring to mind large global corporations, the German companies leading the global market are in fact predominantly found among small and medium-sized enterprises. These include highly specialized problem solvers whose names are hardly known to the general public. The companies pursue a management approach all their own, far removed from short-term “successes” and short-sighted financial goals.
