Many plastic processing operations require an adequate supply of cooling water. Given its importance for process safety, the quality of this water should receive the same attention as, for example, the oil in an engine. Once the relevance of cooling water quality to a company’s cost structure is recognized, and if there is also a desire to move away from the use of biocides, it becomes necessary to explore alternative cleaning and monitoring technologies.
