WGZ Bank, the central bank for the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken, and the WAZ Media Group have presented the “Initiativpreis NRW” for the fifth time. Second place in the “New Jobs in NRW” category went to Oehm GmbH & Co. KG (ONI-Wärmetrafo GmbH) in Lindlar. Between 2008 and 2012, Oehm hired 103 new employees—an increase of 51 percent. Part of the company’s philosophy is to give young people with immigrant backgrounds, those who dropped out of training programs at other companies, and those with health limitations a chance. Approximately 150 employees joined the company who were unemployed and over 50 years old prior to their hiring.
