Since the operating costs of cooling and chilling systems add up to a multiple of the investment costs over their life cycle, energy optimization is of top priority to us. For example, winter relief for chillers is implemented by „non-glycol“ dry-type coolers. To this effect, the atmosphere in the transitional and winter months replaces the high-cost chiller power as a cost-free cooling power supplier. On the one hand, this saves up to 80 % of the power costs for chiller operation. On the other hand, the system operator avoids problems with authorizing bodies!

The system modifi cation of open cooling circuits is another possibility of saving energy. The system reconstruction to a closed ONI system provides several advantages. Closed cooling circuits maintain the water quality much better, avoiding a permanent addition of expensive chemicals, the drainage of desalting water and an entry of dirt into the supply network. All this speaks for the use of closed ONI cooling water systems. In addition, they provide constant water temperatures and thus allow the utilization of waste heat by ONI heat recovery systems.
